It’s almost time to get out the bicycles, fill up the tires and join others on the Bronx River Parkway starting May 6th. Each year the Bronx River Parkway is closed to vehicular traffic from the Westchester County Center to Scarsdale Road in Yonkers from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. on Sundays listed below.
Cyclists, joggers, rollerbladers and just walkers are all welcome. There is always a “fix it” stand along the way, as well as a ice cream truck in Scarsdale on the north side.
You can access the Parkway from any of the Exits along the way, or park in the Westchester County Parking lot for $5. Of course there is free parking along the street meters in towns.
The “Save the Dates” you should put on your calendar are:
May 6, 13, 20, - June 3, 10, 17,24 - September 9, 16, 23 and 30th.
Of course everyone can also hop on the Westchester Bicycle Trails, both South and North Trails anytime of the year! You can print out maps and parking areas in above link.
