Forty years ago Pete Seeger formed Clearwater to support the efforts to clean up the river and the environment. A nonprofit firm called the Great Hudson River Revival was formed. In 2002, Pete Seeger was actually named “Clean Water Hero!”.
There is a whole day of over 50 performers on several stages including Arlo Gurthrie, Tom Paxton and the list goes on!. Activities include a Green Spring Exo, Handmade Crafts, Artisian Foods and Food Court with organic foods, and waterfront activities including a Clearwater Sail, or just going on a kayak or small boat along the Hudson.
Everything is green, so be sure when you have that lunch at the Food Court, you notice all of the recycle bins!
This is a great Fathers Day weekend activity. Bring a blanket or some beach chairs, cooler of drinks and enjoy a day of entertainment with friends. (No dogs allowed except service dogs).
Tickets (which are not inexpensive) can be purchased in advance. But remember the profits all go to the research and preservation of our environment.
