Hmart, the Korean supermarket chain, will be opening a new store at the end of March in Hartsdale, according to the Journal News. Ann grew up in Rego Park Queens where Korean food was always walking distance. Moving to Westchester, we had to drive to Queens or New Jersey to get the food she loves, like tofu and kimchi. We could avoid the drive getting things a la carte here and there locally, but it was always a day trip to really get fortified with everything.
To the uninitiated, HMart is a Korean supermarket that carries all things Korean: gourmet food, spices, fish, choco pies (yum!) bean & melon ice cream, deok, awesome produce and plenty of other mouth watering fare. They also have dry goods, but the food made the trip worthwhile. Now we can avoid the drive enjoy our own Hmart right here in Westchester. Their prices are excellent as well.
I know my wife will also stock up on Korean TV DVDs also.
It is about time!
The location will be 371 Central Avenue, Hartsdale, NY 10530.
The quality of life in Westchester is about to go up.
