The JCC of Scarsdale is hosting the lighting of their Chanukah large Menorah on December 16th. The festivities start at 6:00 pm with the actual lighting at 6:30 pm. Its free to the public and includes music, food and, of course the lighting. Location: 999 Wilmot Road, Scarsdale, NY 10583. A more elaborate Menorah lighting will take place on December 18th at Stew Leonards at 5:30 pm. Temples Tremont and Emanu-El will participate by offering visitors traditional Hanukkah song-singing, which will then be followed by the lighting of a 21-foot menorah. After the lighting ceremony, you can sample traditional food including potato pancakes (latkes) and apple sauce, jelly donuts, hot cocoa and juice.
