This past weekend we went up to Great Barrington and went to the Butternut Ski Resort Arts Festival. There were over 200 exhibitors, from jewelry, paintings, ceramics, animal sculptors, leather goods, to one of a kind interesting lamps and shades made out of natural products by a couple in Vermont. Their website is High Beams, which just gives you a sample. Of course, we ended up with one of them! It was amazing and fun way to spend the day less than 2 hours from Westchester. Don’t worry though, if you missed this one, there is another Great Barrington, MA Butternut Arts Festival August 24-26. The American Marketing Arts Festival Event planners also have a Contemporary Art and Crafts Fair coming up at the Jacob Javits Center 10/19 - 10/21.
So, why do I have a picture of two guys standing behind a booth selling 25 year old aged balsamic vinegars and Napa Valley flavored olive oils and dipping sauces? Because, while I was at the Butternut Arts Festival, I met Mike Moss who is one of the owners of East Side Foodies. He is from Suffern, New York and will be at the Nyack Street fair next Sunday, July 15th. He frequents over 120 shows per year, mostly local. You must stop by his booth and sample on bread on little toothpicks some of the wonderful flavors! My husband usually does not like balsamic, but the thickness and smoothness of his traditional balsamic is great. Combine it with lemon infused olive oil and its terrific on arrugula salad, even without spices! These Leonardo e Roberto’s Gourmet Blends are pretty hefty in price, but well worth it if you want to impress your guests! See you at the Fair.! If you see, Mike Moss, say Barbara from Butternut sent you!.
