White Plains has a wide variety of home choices for buyers.  From apartment and house rentals, to coops, condos and single family homes, White Plains has a neighborhood to meet your needs.

Downtown White Plains has turned into the “northern” New York City. With all of the renovations over last 5-10 years including the addition of The Ritz and corresponding Renaissance condos that house 42 The Restaurant, BLT Steakhouse and Serafina, to City Center complex with the Cineplex multi-screen theaters, many New York City residents who enjoy the hustle, bustle of a city, are looking to move up here.

White Plains has approximately 68,000 residents in 7 different zip codes;  and 17 distinct neighborhoods.  If you are looking downtown White Plains, then you are targeting 10601, 10603 and 10605.

If you prefer a neigborhood feeling, but still would like to be within a 5 mile radius of a downtown area, there are currently 53 houses for sale ranging from a fixer upper for an investor or contractor asking $275,000 up through several listings in the $1,000,000+ range. If you would like to live walking distance to downtown, you may want to consider looking at homes that come up in The Highlands (10605). There are some charming older homes on small properties with a real neighborhood feeling and sidewalks,  but are walking distance to town.  Average prices are $450,000 to $600,000. Gedney Farms, Rosedale and Ridgeway neighborhoods are popular close by neighborhoods you can also explore.

If you do not want to do lawn work, then you can consider a multitude of condos and coops available in the White Plains area. Many are also walking distance to town. There are currently 72 MLS listings for condos ranging from 700 sq feet 1 bedroom asking $189,000 all the way up to the million dollar plus properties at The Renaissance at the The Ritz.  there are 133 coops for sale which range from studios at around $100,000 up through $600,000 for a 2100 square foot apartment.

White Plains, with its restaurants, theaters, updated hospital, public transportion including Metro North that is only a 35 minute train ride to Grand Central, is a convenient place to live.
